Description
Bronze statue of Columbus standing on a natural boulder set inside a walled-in basin filled with water. Columbus wears a short tunic, a cape and knee-high boots. He holds a flagpole with flag upright in his left hand and a downward pointing sword (that is broken off) in his right hand. The whole work is installed on a hillside and stands on a triangular, landscaped area with the statue on the wide end of the triangle. The space in front of the sculpture is paved with cobblestones and fieldstones.

Annotation
Donated by Sam Albicocco, local businessman. When the city donated the statue, Mr. Albicocco bought the land, erected the statue, and established a maintenance fund at his own expense.
According to NIAF this happened in 1986, the sculptor signed with the date 1970 and the memoral tablet has the date 1995.
