Annotation

The inscription in the pedestal is in translation: "In memory of June 24th, 1527".- On this day the so called reformation-riksdag was held in Västerås, where Gustav Vasa claimed some possessions of the church, which was the starting point of a veritable plundering of the churches and as well the beginning of the breaking up with catholicism.
