TO PUSHKIN	The talks of me will spread across whole great Russia, And any tongue living therein will call me (remember my name), be it a proud grandson of the Slavs, a Finn or a Tungus presently a savage, and a Kalmyk the friend of steppes.	Erected in 1880	And for long I will be pleasant to the people because I've been waking good feelings by my lire, because I have panegyrized freedom in our cruel age and because I had called for mercy to the fallen.

The texts on the sides of the pedestal are two strophes of Pushkin's poem based on Horatius, Exegi monumentum (Carmina III, 30).
