Portuguese military officer and politician. While he was governor of Macau, he was assassinated by several Chinese men, triggering the Battle of Passaleão between Portugal and China
Statue of Ferreira do Amaral on a prancing horse.
The statue was inaugurated in Macao, on 24 June 1940. The change of the administration of Macanese territory implied the transfer of the statue to Lisbon; where it was inaugurated in December 1999.
