Description

Bronze statue of King Afonso I on a cylindrical stone plinth. The statue is a replica of the one executed by Soares dos Reis in 1887 and was offered by the city of Porto to Lisbon to be inaugurated on 25 October 1947, in the Castle of São Jorge, on the occasion of the celebration of the 8th Centenary of the conquest of this city.
