ST. BARTHOLOMEW

The story is told that this
parish, former 'comenda'
of the Order of S. Bento de Avis,
had its origin in the fifteenth century,
but only in the year 1590
the curate was instituted and in 1596
the priory of S. Bartolomeu, the saint
who the church celebrates on August 24th"
