Description

Bronze statue of Ubaldino Peruzzi depicted when, on 27 April 1859, he spoke to the people assembled in what was then Piazza Maria Antonia to announce the departure from the city of the last Grand Duke, Leopold II.

On the pedestal are four bronze reliefs depicting episodes of Peruzzi's life:

Annotation

Inaugurated together with the statue of Bettino Ricasoli on 27 April 1898 - the 39th anniversary of the departure in 1859 of the last Grand Duke of Tuscany.

Sculptor

Raffaello Romanelli (Firenze/Florence 1856 - Firenze/Florence 1928), Italian sculptor, son of Pasquale Romanelli and father of Romano Romanelli (Wikipedia).
