Description

The column was erected in 1431 and at its summit a statue of Dovizia (Abundance) by Donatello was placed, which in 1721 collapsed due to weathering over time; A replacement copy by Giovan Battista Foggini was damaged in World War II; in 1956 the Foggini original was transferred to the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze in via Bufalini 6 and on the column a copy made by Mario Moschi was placed.
