Description

Sculpture of a young girl riding a horse without a saddle. She wears a hoodie top and runners.
The horse is a newly made cast of the horse of the equestrian statue of Viscount Hardinge made by John Henry Foley in 1858, a cast of which was used also for Foley's 1880 Gough equestrian statue in Dublin's Phoenix Park (in Chillingham Castle, Northumberland). The model for the rider was Toni Marie Shields, then aged 17.
