Description

Monument shaped as a small turret topped by a statue of a woman, fáinne an lae (daybreak) (also the title of an Irish nationalist newspaper).

Front: Bronze portrait medaillon of Father Griffin, and a relief of Christ and a text.
Right: Relief n. brigid - Saint Brigit of Kildare (c.?451-525), one of Ireland's patron saints along with Patrick and Columba (Wikipedia).
Back: Relief n. coireall- Saint Kerrill a.k.a. Caireall mac Curnain was a Christian missionary in what is now east County Galway, alive in the mid-to-late 5th century (Wikipedia). text: An t-aṫair Míċeal O Gríoḃṫa
