Description

Limestone sculpture of a woman lifting a veil from her head. It features inscribed poetry by playwright and poet Patricia Burke Brogan, who is internationally known for her award-winning play “Eclipsed” about the Magdalen Women. A quote of her poem is on the plinth of the statue, the full poem is inscribed on a stone nearby.
Unveiled on International Women's Day 8 March 2009 by the Mayor of Galway Cllr Padraig Conneely.
