Description

Stone statue of Bishop Kelly, holding a scroll with the text "quam arta quamque multarum artium ministras manus natura homini dedit" (from Cicero, De Natura Deorum II. 60). There are no texts, and the statue comes from the facade of the demolished 'Bishop Kelly Memorial Techinical Institute' of 1926 - which moved in 1984 to the Rossa College elsewhere in Skibbereen. The statue stood in a niche or on a console in the facade.
