This sculpture was commissioned by Dublin City Council in co-operation
with Waterways Ireland and unveiled by An Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, TD, and the
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Royston Brady on the 8th December 2003.

The enhancement project for this stretch of the Royal Canal was instigated by
"Canal Watch" a local community group founded in 1997.
