On the back wall of the church is a Greek temple entrance to the crypt surmounted by a bronze sculpture group - dating from 1929 - depicting a soldier holding a laurel wreath and sitting on a prancing horse, a second soldier stands and a wounded soldier lying on the ground. In front of the "temple" is a sarcophagus with a dead soldier on it, made of stone and placed in 1937.
