Description

On the balustrade between the towers are three stone statues. From left to right:

  1. Szent István - Saint Stephen I of Hungary (Esztergom 967-75 - Esztergom or Székesfehérvár 1038), Grand Prince of the Hungarians (997-1000) and the first King of Hungary (1000-1038) (Wikipedia).
  2. Szent László - Saint Ladislaus I (Poland c. 1045 - Nitra 1095), King of Hungary (1077-1095) (Wikipedia).
  3. Szent Imre - Saint Emeric (Székesfehérvár c. 1007 - 1031), son of King St. Stephen I of Hungary (Wikipedia).

Annotation

The church is built in 1759-1778 by architect Grábner Márton. The 1778 statue of Saint Stephen was damaged in World War II and in 1967 replaced by a new statue by Antal. The two other statues were restored in 1999.
