Description

Neo-Renaissance fountain with three fountain basins (diameter 6.26 - 3.60 and 2.20 m) with in the top a male figure representing the Danube (Ister). At the bottom are three large figures of a seated women representing the Hungarian rivers the Tisza, the Dráva and the Száva.

Danubius fountain in 1883 erected at Calvin Square Designer Miklos Ybl, architect and Leo Fessler, sculptor	The damaged well was restored by the Inspectorate of Monuments of the Capital between 1955-1959 The statues were newly carved using the plans made by Györi Dezső sculptor

Annotation

The original statues were damaged in World War II and replaced with copies made by Győry Dezső.
