Bronze sculpture of the Roman poet Virgil guiding Dante through Hell and Purgatory (from the Divine Comedy), with on the base the motto of the Eötvös Loránd university.

Publius Vergilius Maro (70 - 19 BC), usually called Virgil or Vergil, ancient Roman poet of the Augustan period (Wikipedia).
