In this house was born on 4 March 4 1875 Károlyi Mihály - resolute fighter for the independence of Hungary and the liberation of the Hungarian working people. President of the first People's Republic of Hungary. His parent's house - confiscated during the 1920's Revolution - was returned by the liberated Hungary. In 1946, it was donated to the working people and used for educational purposes. Placed by the Government of the People's Republic of Hungary, March 1965. |
