Description

Granite menhir being shaped by carving and smoothing into a stylised female figure. The menhir is 1.65 m tall.

Annotation

Guernsey people revere the Gran'mère today. She is often decked with garlands and flowers for good luck before weddings and coins are sometimes put on her head.
