Description

Large statue if a viking and a bench with a dragon. It refers to the to Ormesby's possible Norse roots: the name Ormesby is seen as being of Viking origin, with Orme meaning serpent or dragon. The community artwork was a part of the landscaping initiative undertaken by the Ormesby Beck Friendship Group. It was designed by the staff and pupils at Berwick Hills Primary School together with groundwork officer Judith Underwood and Berwick Hills community worker Catherine Hughes. It was unveiled 30 April 2012.
