Description

Statue of Henry Bolckow in the act of presenting the deed of gift of the Albert Park in Middlesbrough. He is clothed in the ordinary outdoor attire of an English gentleman and the head is uncovered. The statue stood in front of the Royal Exchange, for which the foundation stone was laid by Henry Bolckow on 22 November 1866. It opened in 1868, and was demolished in the 1980s to make way for the A66.
