Two marble portrait medaillons in the facade of the Guildhall, each with initials, G-IR and M-QC respectively.
these portraits erected over the spot where h.m. george v was proclaimed king were given in the mayoralty of godfrey benson by his wife 1910.
The actual sculptors were G. Lowther and F. Thomas, working for Bridgeman & Son.
- Robert Bridgeman (1844-1918), architectural sculptor, ecclesiastical sculptor, stone carver and stonemason. From c. 1912 with his son Joseph Bridgman as Robert Bridgeman & Son, succeeded by grandson Charles William Bridgeman (1902-2004) until 1968
