this bust by local sculptor PETER LONDON was erected by public
subscription on august 27th 1991. it replaces the original by
albert tofts which disappeared in 1977

Annotation

William E. Gladstone and his family visited Penmaenmawr on numerous occasions in the second half of the 19th century. The original bust faced down Paradise Road, which William Gladstone opened officially on his last visit in 1896.
