Lord Tredegar, who is in his eightieth year, was visibly moved by the ceremony, and a brief address he recalled the words of the French General on the charge of the Light Brigade, "It is magnificent, but it is not war." "I don't know exactly what that general would call war," remarked his Lordship, amid laughter, "but the charge was something very nearly like war." (Laughter).
