Description

Marble statue of Queen Victoria in a niche in the faëade of the Victoria Art Gallery. The statue is a gift of the women of Bath. The gallery opened in May 1900, the statue was then not ready and was expected in June, it was finished in November and the plan was to have it unveiled by Lord Roberts. That took however too long and they unveiled it without ceremony on 16 April 1901.
