Description

Statue of a helmeted soldier holding a rifle with his left hand taking a cartridge from his pouch with his right, standing on a roughly-hewn block of granite, which a sphinx, the badge of the Gloucester Regiment. It is unveiled by Earl Roberts on 4 March 1905.
