    The statue dates from 1709.
  2. MARIA 2da REGINA | E degatis Dris radcliffe | mdccxix - Queen Mary II (London 1662 - London 1694), joint Sovereign of England, Scotland, and Ireland with her husband (who was also her first cousin), William III and II, from 1689 until her death (Wikipedia)
    The statue is a copy of a statue in Richmond and is made by John van Nost.
Facing the quad is a statue of King James II (no photo).

Colleges in Oxford

Most of the university colleges in Oxford occupy large areas with several buildings and courts ('quads' in Oxford). There are numerous statues, mostly in the façades of the various buildings. The statues with are not visible from the public road. Most of the colleges are accessible for visitors during certain times of the day, some for free, others for a small (or not so small) fee.
