Cross on a hexagonal base of four steps. Around the plinth are niches in the Gothic style containing the figures of saints.
The monument was unveiled on 24 May 1922 by Mrs. Roberts (wife of John Roberts, Lord Mayor of Chester, 1902-03), who lost three sons in the war, and Mrs. Beatty, who lost four sons; was dedicated by the Bishop of Chester.
