Description

Two basalt statues in niches on the west side of George's Dock building (see here). Both sit in half-lotus position, Night with closed eyes and a star, Day with open eyes and a sun disc.

Edmund C. Thompson (Belfast 1898 - 1961), English sculptor, active in Liverpool, c. 1925 to c. 1939 in partnership with George Capstick (Wikipedia – Mapping of Sculpture).
