Stonebow is a 15th century building on the site of the south gate to the lower Roman city. The buidling has been the seat of the City Council since 1500. The two statues either side of the central arch are St. Mary, patron saint of Lincoln and the Archangel Gabriel. Both are re-used 13th century figures.
