On the west side of St. Ethelbert Gate is a statue and a relief, which were made in 1964 by Frank Beverley following the 1817 etchings by Cotman.
- Virgin and Child - Saint Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ
- Man fighting a dragon. This relief must reflect the association of dragons with the devil, driven out of heaven by St Michael.
- Frank Beverley,
