Description

Bust on a stone pedestal.

In 1929 a monument was ereced, composed of a bronze bust on a stone stele at the foot of which a feminine allegory - called the Postière - tends a bouquet of flowers. The bust was melted in 1932 under the Vichy regime. Only the female statue remained. The stele was empty until April 1959, when a new bust was installed. In June 2011, the Postière was stolen. The bust is then reinstalled on a new, more modest base.
