Description

The title of this black painted steel sculpture recalls a character made popular at the Paris circus by the Frenchman Georges Loyal. The assembly of metal plates bolted together draws sharp shapes with cut out contours. Their organization, different according to the angle of view, produces a dissymmetry whose dynamism illustrates well the taste of Calder for the humor and the good humor.
