Statues - Hither & Thither

 

Description

The former presbytery of Saint-Martin d'Ainay, built in 1860 by the architect Claude-Anthelme Benoît (1794-1876), has on two corners votive niches, the one on the north-east corner has a statue of Saint John the Evangelist with the eagle at his feet, the one on the south-east corner had a statue of St. Mary, which however has disappeared.

In the tympana of the windows of the second flour are ten portrait medaillons.
