Sculpture of a standing man (the stone watchman) in front of a covered wall bearing the names of the five resistance fighters murdered by the Germans, e.g. Albert Chambonnet, Gilbert Dru, Leon Pfeffer, René Bernard and Francis Chirat, precisely on the site of the sculpture (then café Le Moulin à vent), 27 July 1944. Further the place names associated with Nazi atrocities and the following sentence: « Passant, va dire au monde qu'ils sont morts pour la liberté » (Passersby, tell the world that they died for freedom).
