Here stands
in front of his restored home
the memorable Anne
constable
the first of his lineage, duke and peer of France
nicknamed "Gallicus Cunctator"
who, wounded in many battles,
ended a life remarkable in good and bad fortune
in a fight at melee
on 12 November 1667
at the age of 74 years

The statue was erected
in 1886
