Description

On the four corners, around the cupola at the top of the Cambrai belfry are four statues, made in 1922 by Marcel Gaumont. They depict a Frankish warrior, a soldier of the town militia, Louise of Savoy (the mother of François I who signed the 1529 "Paix des Dames") and the marquis of Cézen (the first governor after Cambrai was reunited with France in 1667).

At the time of our visit the two on the north corners were packed in plastic, and the one on the southwest corner (Louise of Savoy) we have only photographed from the side. The only good photograph is the soldier of the town militia.
