Description

Statue of a nude women holding a jar upside-down high in her arms.

Adam Johnston (1784-1860), an Englishman who lived on the rue Serpenoise, gave on 8 December 1860, three days before his death, 10,000 francs to the city so that on the Esplanade a fountain could be erected in his name. It was inaugurated 14 August 1869.
