Under the cornice, are three bas-reliefs in white marble. The leftmost represents Apollo playing the lyre accompanied muses. The central relief shows Mercury and Minerva, under date palms and the right Apollo shooting an arrow against a winged dragon which embraces a man. These three bas-reliefs were taken from the old Porte Royale, considering Apollo as an allegory of Louis XV.
