Two symmetrical fountains representing Neptune and Amphitrite are arranged in the corners of the Place Stanislas. They are in a rococo style that breaks with the classical architecture of the place.
The fountain in the north-east corner shows Amphitrite as a nude woman. The two fountains side were removed in 1771 (or 1791) to get access to the Parc de la Pépinière.
