Description
This egg-shaped sculpture is a miniature replica of a monument in Sevilla, Spain. Made of bronze, 0.6 m in diameter, 1.6 m tall standing on a granite pedestal, the sculpture weighs a total of 1.1 tons and is 2 m high.
Inside the egg is a depiction of Christopher Columbus holding a map showing his three ships: the Niña, the Pinta and the Santa Maria on a map on their way to discover the new world.

This replica is on the main Fontenoy building of UNESCO in Paris.
A gift from the Russian Federation to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus's discovery of America.
