Annotation

Briand 'discovered' Cocherel in 1908 and bought a house in the village. He was buried in Cocherel (Cne d'Houlbec-Cocherel - the river Eure divides the village of Cocherel in a part belonging to Houlbec and a part to Hardencourt). On the Hardencourt side of the river is a statue.
