Annotation

Originally there was a bronze statue, which was destroyed during World War II. The socle is still in the garden.

The bust was a gift of the Gevelsberg, the German twin town of VendÃ´me, at the first anniversary of the jumelage.

The bust is identical with the bust in the Rue Saint-Jacques.
