Il se mit au service des pauvres et fonda plusieurs
Congrégations de charité.
En 1654, St Vincent de Paul vint lui-même établir à
l'Hôtel-Dieu de Châteaudun, les trois premières
filles de la Charité, ordre religieux qui y assura
une présence ininterrompue jusqu'en juillet 1976.
