Monument paying tribute to 139 people from Châlons-en-Champagne (then -sur-Marne) who died in combat, 49 patriots shot at Châlons and 81 deportees, 41 of whom never returned.
The main subject of the monument is a statue of a man to be executed. Further all victims of Nazi barbarism are remembered in the various reliefs: soldiers who fell in the air in June 1940, those who fell in the ranks of the Free French Forces, soldiers killed or died in captivity, refugees from the exodus in 1940, forced laborers in Germany and on the coasts of France, railwaymen, the deported intellectuals, and the religious victims.
