In the faç of the Musée Garinet are nine medaillons with stone reliefs of coins and medals. The house was built in 1515 and was since 1598 the Hôtel du Vidamé.
The only reference we found in Topographie historique de la ville de Châlons-sur-Marne by Louis Grignon from 1889. He writes (p. 259): "Dans le mur extérieur du corps de logis principal sont encastrés neuf médaillons, effigies d'empereurs romains et un dixième où se trouve le buste de Henri IV." (In the outer wall of the main building are nine medallions, effigies of Roman emperors and a tenth where is the bust of Henry IV), which makes clear that Grignon didn't know what they were. (curiously enough he mention the bust of Henry IV as tenth medaillon, while it is one of the nine).
We have not found any further information on these medaillons.
