It was in this area, from 6th June 1944, that this 32 years old Commander, although severely
wounded, successfully led The 3rd Parachute Brigade until they broke out two months later.

Unveiled on 5th June 2004 by HRH The Prince of Wales, Colonel-in-Chief, The Parachute Regiment
