Description

Monument consisting of two monoliths, one with high relief of five citizens of Montluçon, the other with a two-dimensional depiction of a steam locomotive made from metal plates. Between both monoliths a stone sculpture of a woman is lying on railroad tracks.

Annotation

On 6 January 1943, on the call of the Resistance, the citizens of Montluçon refused to being transported for forced labor in Nazi Germany. This monument commemorates that fact.
