Description

Sandstone tympanum showing a relief of Christ in Majesty: Christ is seated on a throne as ruler of the world, placed in a mandorla, and flanked by Saint Mary and Saint Benoît (Saint Benedict) to the left, and Pope Leo IX and Saint Cyriaque (Saint Cyriacus) to the right.

Altorf - Tympan

Annotation

Dock's relief replaces the original which was destroyed during the Revolution in 1791.
