Annotation

The statue was made in 1936 for the Kalevala building which, however, was never realized. The statue was finally erected in 1949 on this spot.

Sculptor

Alpo Sailo (up to 1902, Albin Leopold Enlund) (Hämeenlinna 1877 - Helsinki 1955), Finnish sculptor and painter, married with Nina Sailo (Wikipedia).
